To all Oakenfolk: Here's news you already know

oakenfold.jpgSome guy named Paul Oakenfold (Paul Oakenfield according to page E04 of the current issue of City Weekend) is in town today and Shanghai's netizens seem to be talking about it. Paul is a DJ. A very famous one. And he will be doing what he does tonight at Club DKD. When? "Late." How much? 180 RMB at the door. The show is being presented by the "Cool DJ Agency" -- so it's guaranteed to be good.

(For our American readers who just don't "get" the whole international superstar DJ thing, Paul is currently ranked No. 8 in the world by The DJ List. So, in a way, you could say that Paul Oakenfold is the Iowa Hawkeyes of the superstar DJ world. Hope that clears things up.)

  • Guaranteed to be good? I would be more inclined to say "The show features Paul Oakenfold in a very small venue--so it's guaranteed to be crowded beyond belief." And from reports coming out of the scene, it appears that I would be right.
