What Would Jay Do?

jaychou.jpgKung-fu rapper and balladeer Jay Chou -- king of Mandopop, movie star and shill for just about every product imaginable -- graces Shanghai with his presence Friday night, bringing his long-running "Incomparable" tour to Shanghai Stadium at 7:30 p.m. (Yes, Incomparable. His last big tour was called The One. See a pattern?)

This current tour actually started early last fall -- there's already even a tour CD out -- but, hell, we'd keep the tour going forever, too, if we could get up to RMB 1,080 a ticket. (Hey, at least tickets are sold to the public for this one. That's not the case for his July 9 gig in Beijing.)

Evidently Mr. Chou, self-proclaimed idiot, puts on quite an extravagent show. Rumor has it that he'll be lowered to the stage affixed to a glowing red crucifix. This guy may look kind of feminine, but that's pretty ballsy. Think there will be any religious groups picketing outside the stadium? Nah, we don't either.
