We all know that California is famous for its pizza. Wait ... no it's not. Still, the California Pizza Kitchen, a mainstay in malls across America, is a welcome addition to the Shanghai restaurant scene, even though they tend to put some crazy shit on their "hearth-baked pizzas." CPK, as they refer to themselves, opened an 88-seat branch in Shanghai Center on Tuesday. It's right next door to the Haagen-Dazs.
Shanghaiist wants to say this is the first CPK in China, but we can't access the chain's website to find out for some reason. Maybe China's internet police thought "Thai Linguine" just sounded too ridiculous.

Well, it would be China's first CPK (its Web site is not even up-to-date enough to include the Shanghai location) -- if you don't count Hong Kong as part of China. But that would be wrong, wouldn't it? Unless the Basic Law says it's "one country, two pizza markets." Anyway, we've got at least two CPKs in HK.
Mmm...couldn't access the site this morning either to get info for an entry.
