The Ice-man cameth (parental discretion is advised)

Shanghaiist didn't attend the Ice-T concert last night at Pegasus Club, but friends of Shanghaiist did. (And just to make sure Shanghaiist's street-cred remains intact, we'd like to note that we saw Ice-T perform in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, back in 1992 -- when Ice-T was still somewhat controversial.) Anyway, here are some random observations from those in attendance at the packed and most definitely uncensored show:

• Ice-T: "I was makin’ records when you were swimmin’ around in your daddy’s nut sack."
• "Played 'Let's Get Butt Naked And Fuck.' Third song."
• "Ice asked the crowd if there were any local rappers out there. One guy got up on stage. Funny thing is, it looked like he'd been planted there (Ice seemed to be signaling to the side of the room -- 'Is this the right guy?'). In the end, not sure if they got the right guy. He screamed 'Shanghai' a lot and 'Ice-T' a lot. Ice gave him about a minute then kicked him offstage rather unceremoniously."
• "He put on a strong, short set. More of being there to tell stories and work the crowd than perform two-decades-old raps -- like 'Colors' and 'Original Gangster' -- though he remembered all the lyrics!"
• "Afrika Islam was predictably shit. These fucking 'originator' DJs of hip hop haven't gotten rich off their little creation, but they never miss the chance tooting their little horns. His set was nothing but predictable, year-old club tracks which, given the circumstances, were totally appropriate. Just the same, you're entire house is full of record shelves -- put some work into your setlist."
• Coco Marrow, Ice-T's wife/manager: "I only drink with a straw."
• "Ice is a good MC. I liked when he talked -- he talks a lotta shit. An actor, a showman. Don't see that a lot out here."
• Ice-T: "This female came up to me at the airport and said: ‘Are you one of those nasty rappers?’ and I said ‘Bitch, I’m the nastiest motherfucker of them all.'"
• "Where was the air-conditioning? Clubs think it's wise to make people hot so they'll drink more. Personally, I left."
• Ice-T: "So there I was, on my boat, countin’ my money, gettin’ my dick sucked by two albino midgets and my ass sucked by Coco …"
• "Everone else seemed to have a camera in hand like recording the moment was more important than experiencing it."
