<description>&lt;p&gt;Sounds like a typical short-term, consumer-minded view of it.

When I go to a Shanghai football game, I&apos;m not paying to see crap football.  I&apos;m paying to be a part of the  football-crazy crowd, and I&apos;m paying for the team to hire better coaches so we have better teams later on, and for the league to start programs to encourage Chinese kids to start playing football earlier and more often.

So yeah, I do my part as a consumer every once in a while, watching the European Cup finals or a World Cup match or two, but I balance that out by building up the football community here in Shanghai.
