The JP Gaultier show was strange: not a runway show, but i should have known that if i had gone to Dragon Club before. It's a fairly cozy club, so the crowds would just clear spaces for the models to dance. There was no catwalking, just a lot of dancing. It was kind of strange to be so up close with the models, as well as the waiters whizzing in between models with plates of french fries and drinks. Evidently, the materials I got in the press kit are somewhat different from what I saw in the flesh: they are both part of the fall/winter collection, but the stuff we saw was newer than what was in the press kit, and hence we will have to wait for a newer press kit to get more accurate information. Everyone there was achingly hip. Some of the stylin' Europeans there looked like they were from the band Oasis. I was such a lonely proletarian that night.

Sorry, but it sucked! The laser lights and the fog machine were so cheesy for a club that size - where they trying to scale a Poison concert down to a small club scale? And I don't really know what to say about the music, which was too boring to talk about. On the other hand, it was pretty cool how quick it was between sets. And the club seemed set up pretty cool except for the goofy stage effects. The first song by the second band (with the repeated keyboard riff) was pretty cool. I'm all about supporting the scene but I was extremely disappointed.
