Ok I have been tempted out of silence...

Mike: I feel like I do after a good Shanghai Saturday night - used and abused :-p

Micah: Shanghaiist laid this egg... after all, it does say in the report that I was there. It was just good-old fashioned journalism - getting your arse along and seeing for yourself instead of arsing about on the net... But thanks for your interest guys.

Check out this link to my blog for a more personal account of the match in question.

The chicken, or the egg? Maybe the above author sourced the Economist?

There's been some discussion on danwei.org recently about China newspapers "copy and paste method of content creation." I think Shanghaiist might be interested to know that its not just the China newspapers that are at it, but The Economist too. In The Economist's recent Shanghai briefing (available here: http://www.economist.com/cities/briefing.cfm?city_id=SHA&fsrc=nwl), the writer basically copied the above posting word-for-word. I wonder how the writer of the above posting feels about it: used or flattered?
