So it seems that Shanghaiist is not the only weblogger in Shanghai.
Apart from the hardy Shanghai Webloggers Meetup (“since 2004!”), a dip across the language barrier turns up dozens (if not hundreds or thousands) of Chinese webloggers, and a little more research shows that like Shanghaiist they are ready to party: this weekend, Shanghai will be host to the Chinese Blogger Conference 2005.
In short, this is a Bloggercon by Chinese webloggers for Chinese webloggers from all over China, happening November 5th and 6th (this Sat and Sun) here in Shanghai, compromising a total of nine talks and panel discussions on topics ranging from “Blogging and Media” and “Podcasting”, to “Web 2.0” and “Blogging & Education”. Each day’s activities will run from about 9 am to 5 pm or so, and the registration fee includes a box lunch. More details are on the conference’s English blog (natch!), and registration information in English is also online.
The conference will be held entirely in Chinese, so bring along your Babelfish, or a human translator if in a pinch.
The Chinese Blogger Conference 2005 will be held at 915 Julu Rd, Julu Plaza 2F, at the corner of Julu Rd and Huashan/Chanshu Rds, a short 5-10 minute stroll south of the Jing’an Temple.
