Did you just call me a Countach?

Lamborghini.jpgFinally we have a new toy to spend our salaries on. After baring all in the April 2005 Auto Show in Shanghai, both MurciƩlago and Gallardo will soon be silently whoring themselves in the face-smudged windows of a store near you.

Auto icon Lamborghini is opening a dealership Tuesday in China's commercial capital of Shanghai, looking to the country's newly affluent to weather slowdowns elsewhere. Lamborghini, owned by Germany's Volkswagen AG, says market research showed Shanghai, the country's biggest city and a virtual citadel to conspicuous consumption, to be the most promising market for its vehicles, which cost upwards of US$330,000.

It took only 4 hours to sell the first Rolls Royce in Shanghai, and we're willing to bet that the Lamborghini can be quicker than that. This is a car that does 0 to 60 in 4.0 seconds, remember.

We were excited at this latest opportunity to relate how this shows that "Shanghai is changing" ... "truly an international city" ... "the new upper-class" ... but now we're too busy salivating at the pictures on the official site. We would give you the link for making online orders but we doubt whether anyone would be using that particular service. Just a guess.
