Yeah the guy is Tom Doctoroff, CEO of J. Walter Thompson Shanghai.

It was a funny to hear him say there are no pizza deliveries in Shanghai. There are quite a few restaurants you can get pizza delivered from!

Pizza Now
Melrose
Papa Johns
Una's Pizza
Yellow Submarine
Baci
Pasta Fresca
Prego's
Valley Gourmet

Maybe the CEO has never heard of Sherpas. Or maybe it is true that in Shanghai, only laowais eat pizza?

At the advice of my Today show watching mother, I went down to the Bund on Thursday night while the show was being filmed. Lucky laowai that I am, I got a few minutes to the talk to the man. And he was astonishingly short. I think the camera adds a couple hundred pounds.

actually there are lotsa pizza deliveries in shanghai, most of which are free within 5 km. During my last stay this past summer i ordered like 4 days a week to avoid the heat, and let the bike riding delivery boy suffer instead. Just look at 8days magazine (called something else now) & at the back should be the takeout section.

The whole segment was pretty funny. For the nightlife segment, they went to Xintiandi, which was an interesting choice, although they at least talked a little about the club scene. They also had a Western advertising expert who was pretty entertaining, but told Matt that there was no pizza delivery in Shanghai. I hope no one tells the Papa John's by my house, because it would suck to have to start going there to get my pizza ...
