Following up on a previous Shanghaiist post, it turns out that a posting on eBay China offering babies for sale was just an "evil joke." The culprit, surnamed Wu, is from Jiangxi province and will have to spend seven days in the slammer.
Wu operates a digital photo studio in the city of Xinyang in Henan Province. One day he found a note on the street from someone offering to sell babies.Later, Wu published a similar note on the Website as a joke, although he had no babies to sell.
The story did not say what the penalty would have been if he actually did have babies to sell.
