Shanghai Daily starts podcasting

We had been wondering why we were seeing so many ads for ChinesePod on the Shanghai Daily website. Now we know. Shanghai Daily has started offering podcasts, and they have teamed with ChinesePod for the first one. Shanghai Daily has basically added sound to its Buzzwords feature, which introduces Chinese words or phrases that you may not learn from your textbooks. You can find written descriptions of the first six buzzwords covered in the podcast here. The words are:

水货 (shuihuo) -- grey import

枪手 (qiangshou) -- ghost test-taker, ghost writer

色友 (seyou) -- shutterbug

纸黄金 (zhi huangjin) -- paper gold

包机 (baoji) -- charter flight

八卦 (bagua) -- gossip, gossipy
