Extra! Extra! Airport hubbub, Creativity and Sea turtles

• Although this story was reported a month ago, Shanghai Daily is claiming that a couple of days ago, the Shanghai Airport Authority unveiled a blueprint for the future that will double the amount of uncomfortable places to try to sleep passenger and air cargo volume at Pudong International Airport in 2015. They state that "a second major terminal comprising 480,000 square meters is scheduled to be finished in 2007 to the east of the existing 278,000-square-meter structure", and we trust you will be as thrilled as we are at this little teaser: "The terminals, which will run parallel to each other, will form two long rectangles."
• Whilst "creative" may not be a word on the tip of anyone's lips who has spent any amount of time in a Chinese school, Shanghai is "expected" to become one of the world's four most foremost creative hubs, "a European consultation company" has declared (were they not willing to put their names on that claim?). Shanghai seems to be hungry for the further 2 billion yuan which is set to be invested into the sector, as apparently "eighteen creative industrial parks -- including Creativity Warehouse along Suzhou Creek and newly built Bridge 8 on Jianguo Road -- have attracted more than 800 design companies from over 30 countries and regions to set up offices."
• We reported on Shanghai's aim to get all of the sea turtles (hai gui, 海龟 -- returning students) they can back to the city, and it looks like they have done it. "Overseas returned overseas scholars who have come to work and start businesses in Shanghai generally are young with high skills and rich overseas work experiences. They have mainly come from countries, including Britain, the United States, Japan, Australia and Canada, with their ages ranging from 26 to 40 (accounting for 70.7 per cent)." One vaguely interesting stat is that males make up nearly 70 percent of the total.
