The revolution will not be televised

This Thursday, January 19th, Shanghai's Pegasus will play host to DJ Revolution, one of hip hop's premier DJs for ten years and counting. Since 1996, Rev has been holding down the wheels of steel for Sway & King Tech on the internationally syndicated "Wake Up Show," while still finding time for guest appearances and prodcuer credits on tracks with some of hip hop's heavyweights.

Tickets are 60 RMB at the door, and as an added bonus, your ticket purchase includes a drink and a "Wake Up Show" t-shirt, which will undountedly increase your "street cred" ten-fold. Or you could hire this guy.

For those of you that have been missing American hip hop as much as Shanghaiist (read: not Top-40), make sure to head over to Pegasus to pay your respects to one of the big names in the game today. Doors open around 8:30pm, but don't expect Rev on any time before 11pm, which ought to give you plenty of time to head over after a few drinks with your Shanghaiist friends.
