What are you doing Monday morning?

If you have a real job, you'll likely be working. But if you're like Shanghaiist -- and you're also American -- you may be watching some good, old fashioned ganlanqiu ... American football ... the National Football League conference championships ... the two games that determine the contestants in Super Bowl XL (40, not "extra large"). The Pittsburgh Steelers play at the Denver Broncos in the American Football Conference championship at 4 a.m. And with a somewhat more bearable 7:30 a.m. kickoff, the National Football Conference championship pits the Carolina Panthers on the road against the Seattle Seahawks.

Shanghaiist will be watching the second game from the comfort of our living room. But there is also hope for those of you who choose not to steal illegal satellite television. Windows Scoreboard will be open and showing both games Monday morning. If you go, please tell us how many people showed up. We are curious.

Don't let the "Windows" name scare you away from Scoreboard, either. While it's three other namesakes might bring to mind images of bad hip hop, sticky shoes and drunk kids on a 12-month bender gap year, Windows Scoreboard, for better or worse, feels like just about any sports bar in an American college town -- with really, really cheap drinks. Jameson on the rocks? 10 kuai. Xinjiang Black Beer (arguably the country's best)? 10 kuai. Can't beat that ... even at most Xinjiang restaurants. Yet Windows Scoreboard maintains a relative air of civility -- maybe its patrons are too transfixed by all the flat screen TVs. Don't get us wrong though, Windows Scoreboard promotes overconsumption just like its counterparts. Check out the text from Scoreboard's grand opening party flyer last month:
