Baby killing? Even after the Sex Expo?

This Indian news article declares that "[a] 2004 study cited in the official People’s Daily notes that only about a fifth of Chinese men surveyed knew where the clitoris was". The remaining four fifths said that they have never tasted French food, but they are more than eager to try it.

It goes on to explain that China had a Sex Expo last year, and therefore the culture, the minds, the beds, the legs etc. of the people are all opening up, wider and more gloriously than ever before.

Some estimates put the sex toy industry in China, which serves about 70 per cent of the world market, at over $10 billion. And in Beijing alone, there are believed to be in excess of 2,000 stores retailing adult toys. The only policemen who swing by are off-duty cops who wish to buy something long and hard for their wives or mistresses — or whoever.

Unsuspecting colons, watch out!

It seems that despite double-ended dildos demonising a fair chunk of the population, one younger Shanghainese girl -- supposedly the ones who are developing and changing -- killed her new-born baby:

A 19-year-old woman was charged with murder for smothering her 4-day-old daughter as the infant suckled at her breast. The Shanghai woman told a court yesterday that she killed the child of her former boyfriend because the infant complicated her relations with her current lover. She also said she didn't know she was six months' pregnant until her coworkers said she was getting fat and she went for an examination ... Lin was unable to contact Huang[, the father of the child]. She asked Huang's father to take the child, but he told her to take care of the problem herself, she testified. She asked her obstetrician whether she could give her baby to others, but he did not respond.

The whole society really covers themselves in glory with this one, eh?
