CJ Chicago's, although advertising itself as a 24-hour establishment, was not open on the morning of the Super Bowl. At least, we couldn't get a phone call through. 一直打不到对方！

Really frustrating. Had to settle for Melrose, the city's most mediocre pizza. Today is two-fer-tuesday, however, so that is a bonus...

Had one with everything on it last night. The manager/owner of the rest. answered the phone and informed me on the variety of toppings they have. He was very helpful. It was a damn good pizza. I am a big eater, and it took me two sittings to finish it. But Dan is right, you better get off your ass and go to the gym when your finished.

I've always wondered whether Chicken Vesuvio was a Chicago-thing. Growing up in Chicago it was on the menu of every Italian restaurant but living other places since then I don't know if I've ever seen it. I do know this--the Chicken Vesuvio at Haray Caray's restaurant on Kinzie St. in Chicago is excellent. All they need on the menu is some Italian Beef, a Vienna beef hot dog and Old Style Beer. Cheers!

Hackney's originates in the north suburb of Glenview (where it has 2 restaurants) and also operates in Wheeling, Lake Zurich, Palos Park, and their newest location in downtown Chicago.

Hackney's is a restaurant with a few locations in the general Chicagoland area, and they do indeed serve an appetizer consisting of fried, battered onions in the shape of a loaf. It's quite good. I wonder how kosher it is that one restaurant can use the names of many different Chicago restaurants in their menu...but I'm not going to tell them.

Thanks for the review. Looks like the perfect excuse to spend a few on the throne, just the way I like it! Chicagoan here, will definitely try CJ Chicago the next time I'm in town. If anyone's ever in Chicago, I'd recommend Gino's East, Pizzeria Uno(the one that started it all), Lou Malnati's, and Giordano's for some world-class deep-dish stuffed pizza. -JC
