In China, there are many gaming workshops that hire people to play online games such as Lineage and World of Warcraft day and night. The gaming workers produce in-game currency, equipments and whole characters that are sold to American gamers for real dollar. They are called Chinese gold farmers by American gamers.
Some call this next generation outsourcing. Some call it sad. While Shanghaiist agrees that some of these "farmers" are likely being taken advantage of, our many visits to internet bars around China have shown us that millions of Chinese boys and young men would spend most of their waking hours playing online games whether they were getting paid for it or not. At least this way they are getting something out of it.
Shanghai's Tietou Gaming Workshop, featured in the movie, has already had to shut down due to competition ... and some PayPal difficulties. What did Tietou's employees do? Three of them simply started playing/working at one of their homes.

I need Chinese connections, the only suppliers (farmers) that find me are American college students. This is fine, but they cannot keep up with demand or provide on every server. I have been interested in starting up a farm of my own for quite some time because I cannot find a good supply line for WOW. If anyone has WOW gold or knows of a farm, I would greately appreciate any information or help you can provide.
