Thanks to everyone who came last Friday to our first weekly party. The feeling inside the club was just what we had been aiming for....check the new picture gallery.

On Friday 31st micro presents the next microfabrique party, and is very pleased to announce the special guest artist, Tom Clark from Berlin, Germany: simultaneously a DJ, and a producer, he is also the owner of the world renowned music label Highgrade Records.

The aim: to build a base for world and China wide micro and minimal style artists and showcase them with local micro DJs, is coming closer to reality with each event; now 10 months old, micro is growing stronger all the time.

The line up on the 31st is DJi, who produced such a sumptuous warm up set back in February. Following is jacksonblack, then B6, then special guest Tom Clark who is an integral part of the electronic music scene in Berlin, a city world renowned for its cutting edge musical output.

Tom Clark’s Highgrade Records, has helped define a fresh new sound for Berlin and his own productions and DJ sets have blown up dance floors worldwide for well over a decade. His sets build gradually in intensity, encompassing a wide range of moods and sounds showcasing his innate sense of dance floor dynamics. His music style varies from deep minimal tech/house, to Detroit techno, electro and back to house.

Next up is DJ tootekool, for him there is more than “beatmatching” and even more than putting tracks in the same tune. His real strength is in the feeling he communicates when he composes his sets. Next is DJ Daniel FX from Berlin. Influenced by mid 90s Belgian sounds, he will play dirty techno house. Throughout the night, synching with the music styles, VJ tootekool and VJ petersen will throw their minimal flash based visuals onto fabrique’s two huge screens.

Take a look at DJ bios, the line-ups and get free tickets in the lucky draw.

Errr... I don't know if you ever read smartshanghai.com, but this has been going on for ages. Which kind of puts a dampener on your cynicism - good music can survive and prosper in Shanghai. We just need less whingers.
