
- Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang on doing business in China: "We have to think of a way in which the internet phenomenon can continue to grow and reach more users and at the same time comply with local laws. In places like China and other places that have different political regimes I think you'll see them trying to react and potentially regulate these kinds of activities. But our observation is that it is inevitable that things will become more open and free flowing."
- American senators Chuck Schumer and Lindsey Graham have decided to delay a vote a bill that would impose high tariffs on goods imported from China: "For me to abandon the idea of imposing tariffs, I have to be convinced that the Chinese have abandoned the idea of getting an unfair trade advantage through manipulating the currency. After my visit, I am optimistic they're moving in that direction, but the jury's still out," Graham said.
- Consumer in Jiangxi is suing Colgate because the company's toothpaste didn't make his teeth as white as he thought it would.

- Could the Year of Italy in China come to an abrupt close? Check out what Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said at a recent rally: "Go and read the black book on communism and you'll find that under Mao's China they didn't eat babies but boiled them to fertilize the fields." China was "dissatisfied" with that remark.

- McDonald's in Hong Kong was found guilty of "selling ice cream containing E.coli bacteria 630 times above safety standards." The fine? HK$4,000 and an extra HK$430 in lab fees. That'll teach 'em!
- From China's Minister of Construction, we learn that "China will lessen its greenhouse emissions by 846 million tons annually if all new buildings were installed with energy-saving technologies." Does that mean central air and heat? And (gasp!) insulation?!?
