it seems we just can't get it right with our readership these days. Not sure how this post is anti-China, nor am I sure what specific political agenda James is referring to.

What's your problem man? Always picking stupid stuff to attack China with. Why don't you change your webpage from Shanghai-ist to Anti-Chinaist. Clearly, other than spreading your political agenda, you know nothing about Shanghai or China for that matter.

Fujian is a good bet on where the people themselves are from in any case, but the Seattle Times says the container was loaded in Shanghai: "It stopped in Yantian, China, before arriving in Shanghai, where the container carrying the 22 Chinese nationals was loaded. The Rotterdam made a stop in Pusan, South Korea, before departing March 26 for Seattle." I suspect that it's simply tougher now to sneak human cargo aboard in Xiamen...so why not head up the coast! ("Visit beautiful Shanghai before beginning your voyage to the New World...".)

Yes, the interesting thing about the story when it first broke in Shanghai from XinHua was that it focused on the fact that they arrived in good health. I posted about this in my blog and how it seemed like an :"encouraging" sign for others would-be illegals to try this...sigh, sad.
