Taxi fare on the rise, Shanghaiist undaunted

cab.jpgAccording to Shanghai Online, cab fare in Shanghai is finally going up … by a whopping one kuai.

Starting today, the first three kilometers will cost you 11 hard earned yuan as opposed to 10, and every km thereafter will be an additional 2.1 kuai, a 10 fen hike over the original deal. Shanghaiist is no math whiz, but from the look of things, our weekend Xinjiang Black Beer binges won’t be affected too much. Then again, we don’t cab often. But, if you live out in Pudong, that weekend trip to watering holes in Puxi just got a little pricier.
