Worse than Vogon poetry?

In a country where karaoke is king and even the shyest person has been known to belt out a version of “I Will Always Love You” after too many Chivas and green teas, a tolerance for bad singing is a necessity.

Here at Shanghaiist, however, we don’t merely tolerate acts like this and this, we embrace them.

So, to pick up where we left off in our series of mediocre vocal performances, Shanghaiist presents this short snippet, filmed in Shangli Town during our recent sojourn in Sichuan Province (where we also found time to don a tight blue bathing suit and hit Chengdu’s water park).

Enjoy.
