What we are doing this Saturday

After filling up on bagels, sausage, eggs and Bloody Marys at the Shanghaiist Brunch Happy Hour at City Diner (details at the bottom of this post), we plan on heading over to DDM Warehouse for the Rock for Charity concert, all profits from which go to Shanghai Sunrise. It's a great cause, and a great lineup of bands. Mint and Ferris Wheel played at the last Shanghaiist Happy Hour (video clips), The Living Thin were supposed to play at our last Happy Hour but then the guitarist had to go to Beijing with his family, and Shanghai Streets describes Loudspeaker (扩音器) as "Shanghai’s #1 punk band."

Here's the lineup for the concert:

1 pm: Student Bands
7 pm: Ferris Wheel
8 pm: Mint
9 pm: The Living Thin
10 pm: Loudspeaker
Special guest DJs PCHU an Emcore

Concert organizers say Rock for Charity showcases "a collaboration between Shanghai’s underground music scene and energetic, crowd-pleasing teenage rock bands." They continue:

Organized by students and teachers of Shanghai international schools and in cooperation with DDM Warehouse this year, the event will be donating all of its profits to Shanghai Sunrise. Funding donated from this event will be used to assist underprivileged Chinese children in meeting their most basic needs as well as providing for their educational and medical requirements.

Shanghaiist wonders if DDM Warehouse plans on setting up a "nap room." With the Roller Revival, the Brunch Happy Hour and an all day concert, it seems like its going to be a long (but fun) weekend.

As promised, here are the Happy Hour details:
