See the white guy in the photo? Somebody's gotta do a study on the influence of foreign exchange students on progressive attitudes in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

i think there might be two white guys: one on the right with the white hair (he looks white, not sure) and someone in the center of the picture, in the background. none of these guys look like hipsters though. i would much rather do a phD dissertation on "hipsters in Shanghai 1995-2005," which i think could probably land me a tenure track job at a midwestern university, in which case i would have a respectable job and then hate myself for the rest of my life.
