Join Shanghaiist's World Cup Challenge!

We have set up a group over at the Germany Cup Pick 'Em on ESPN Soccernet. And we're inviting all Shanghaiist readers and friends of Shanghaiist readers (and anyone else) to join in the fun. It's totally free. Test your soccer football knowledge with people from all over the world. To make it ever so slightly more interesting, we'll give the winner a Shanghaiist T-shirt. (Exciting, we know.)

Here's a brief summary of the game:

Welcome to the new ESPNSoccernet Germany Cup Pick'em. Below you'll find a listing of each Group Stage game as the teams attempt to advance to the Knockout Round. All you need to do is select the outcome of each game, whether it be a win, loss, or a draw. Points will only be awarded to your entry for correct selections. You can access each day's games by clicking on the (show games) link located next to each game day.

To get started and join our group, click here. Our group name is "Shanghaiist" and our group password is "shanghai." (You have to create your own member name and password.)

If you need to do some research, here's the official site for the World Cup. Also, here are FIFA's current world rankings. You'll notice that certain country that calls football "soccer" is ranked No. 5. (Come on, let us enjoy it while we can.)
