Is there a good review list of restaurants in Shanghai by locals that live here? The stuff on this website i usually agree with -- tried FP on your rec and it was good. Citizens is awesome.

Here is my list of good and bad ones in Puxi:

The good:

cafe transat, great service, atmosphere and ambiance

Luna, great place for tapas, though a tad expensive

Des Lys, great price, great food (especially like the chicked).

Laris, best resaurant in Shanghai, period.

Bad:

La Maison, the service is terrible, manager rude, but the food good.

Jean-Georges, i dont think the food is that good and the price is too high. it owuld be ok if price cheaper

m on the bund, i dont understand why poeple like this place aside from view. ambiance might be the nicest in shaghai. awesome view. but the food too salty and sub-par.

Shanghai is a great place for good.

I agree with visitor. La maison is just awful. The ambiance is so terrible. it is dark like a dungeon ad food overpriced.

i think they should just get rid of that whole side across from cofee bean. those places are all empty ad dont taste good.

there a much better alternatives in xtd. luna is great for dinner, though not as good for lunch. ye shanghai has the best shanghai food in town.

The Brazilian BBQ restaurant is Latina. It is great food, though I dont like that they don't include drinks with the buffet. 15 kuai for a water seems high to me, especially when the food is a tad salty. But I like it.

La Maison is terrible. The food is ok but the service and atmosphere is bad. I went once for lunch set and waited one full hour before they brought the appetizer. It is ridiculous. Stay away from La Maison.

Hot Chocolate was a "jazz" bar and cafe on Dongping Lu; it closed a couple of years ago and was replaced by... some bar/club... which was replaced again by another bar, can't remember names. It was across from Azul Viva. La Maison is the caberet restuarant in Xintiandi but I don't know anyone who actually goes there. The caberet dancers in their advertisements look scary.
