Editor's Note: We liked GigShanghai's debut podcast so much last week that we immediately asked how we could be involved. Starting today, you can check out Shanghai's only podcast about the city's live music scene here on Shanghaiist. A new show will be posted every Thursday. Thanks to Aric and Brad for putting together this great and much-needed broadcast. And thanks to all of you for supporting Shanghai's live music scene!
Thankfully we broke in our ears with last weeks AK-47 assault on the Shang before this Friday’s highly anticipated return of the SUBS to Harley’s. Speaking of sophomoric returns, our show this week combines a charitable hip-hop concert (a rep mentioned break-dancing and a sword auction?!?), reggae-country good ole’ boys, an unsigned Wuhan rock group (all gals, btw), plus a studio visit from Scott Hess (New Heights DJ) and a preview of his fifth release -- and, of course, an anarchists wet-dream in the ferocious form of Kang Mao’s punk bunch ... all playing this weekend. We were toying with airing our interview with Quincy Jones, but it never happened …we’re sure it was just because of the one kuai increase in taxi fare.
The contents of this week's GigShanghai show:

Are you sure that's not Matthew Fox and Willem Dafoe in that photo?
While I logged on with good intentions of thanking Shanghaiist for helping out our little show, now all I want to do is chuck it all in for a stunt-double career on "Lost".
Regardless-thanks to all for their support. Hope it gets at least one person out of Bar Rouge and into a show.
