GigShanghai: Free gigs, Fairyland and ready to 'get retarded'?

subsshanghaiharleys.jpgHard as it was to put headphones on with the mohawks we sported at last weekends SUBS appearance, we simply couldn’t take a week off with so many gigs to catch this weekend. In the latest GigShanghai podcast, we whored out our studio with interviews from Lindy (front-gal of Cold Fairyland), a former music critic of “Rock” and a few lads from Durban. In between those we managed to fit in an unsigned trip-hop trio from Anhui while continuing our search for the “Dylan of the East”…all the while wondering: Will pajamas be allowed at the Black Eyed Peas show?

Show goes as follows:

03 – “First let’s talk about the week in review ...”
37 – “It (SUBS show) made me make No. 1 in my pants a little ...”
23 – “Black Eyed Peas making the announcement ...”
00 – “You all must be very, very busy ...”
47 – Cold Fairyland clip (live from Amsterdam)
03 – “Your drummer ... he also plays as a drummer in the Peking Opera?”
54 – The Shanghaiist Pick of the Week – Spinning Mirage
37 – “Now my next guest was the former writer of ... Rock ...”
25 – “They (Pause) decided to put on a free show ...”
39 – Antidote clip
19 – “They boldly shut off the iPod ... and started jamming ...”
50 – Clip of Rock Star Posers
28 – Unsigned Spotlight: Crystal Rubic
33 Shuffle Folk Festival clip
30 – “Let me just do a quick recap of this weekends shows ...”
