Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc, the second-largest US doughnut maker, said it will open a store in China for the first time after awarding development rights for Hong Kong and Macau to restaurateurs Wayne and Brian Parfitt.
The agreement calls for the development of about 20 locations over the next five years. The first Krispy Kreme is scheduled to open in Hong Kong later this year. The chain won’t own the stores, though it will receive franchise fees.
