One of the bigwigs is staying in the Pudong Renaissance Hotel, and a friend of mine who lives on the 23rd floor of a building facing the hotel has a cop next to the elevator (the cop is on the 23rd floor, not the ground floor) 24 hours a day. Don't know about the other floors.

Cops closed Jing Xiu Rd. for a convoy of 17 vehicles today, we had to wait a good 20min afterwards before we could get on the road.

Went from Century Park to Lujiazui on Century Av. today, 50m, stop, 50m, stop, 50m....

My fiancee was told that she could not return to her hotel room on Guangdong Lu from noon to midnight on the 14th. This is the kind of rubbish that is perpetrated when an illegitimate government not controlled by the rule of law is in power. The Chinese just keep taking it....amazing!

I'm not sure how this relates to the meeting, but the two local "massage" parlors on my block were closed last night (I live near Xujiahui). Last night was the first time my boyfriend wasn't propositioned while coming home. If this is happening all around the city, i guess these diplomats and officials will have to stick to KTV girls.

At the core of Lujiazui, my company was told to tell every employee, especially those who will be in the building on those SCO days, no close to windows, no photo, no video. The police will take over the building, so please be compliance. Every employee needs to send a acknowledge email to department manager, although only two or three people of each department will actually come. Yes, it's a SOE (State Owned Enterprise).

We were out yesterday when my gf bought a Vogue magazine. After we unwrapped the magazine, we were trying hard to find a rubbish bin to throw away the plastic wrapper, but couldn't find any! (we were at Shanghai Railway Station metro line 3) The person on duty told us that the gov instructed all rubbish bins to be removed to prevent bombs being placed in them...
