Chinese World Cup fan(atic)s
Hey, you knew it was bound to happen. A Chongqing native living in Beijing and working in IT quit his job in order to go home to Chongqing and watch the World Cup games. We think he should have just told his boss that he was working from 6 am to 9 pm, rather than going to such extremes. Just make sure you build up a nest egg every four years.
A better way to go about things is to keep your day job and just blog/podcast/videocast about your World Cup views. One Beijing blogger has already registered 10 million "hits" on his blog. He dons an Afro wig and mustache and holds forth, in a comic way, on all things World Cup related. He's even got his buddies to stay over and help him out. He's a lucky guy in other ways too: "Asked what his wife thought of him turning their apartment into a television studio, Dong laughed: 'She's very supportive of what I do. I'm her superstar.'"
The World Cup might bring out some strange behavior in people, but as we've always said, there's no need to worry too much because it's temporary and besides, it's better than eating your own hair until you end up bald. What's even stranger is that this case of allotriophagy, despite originating from the Chongqing region, does not seem to like their hair with any regional condiments. How about ma la hair, or kung-pao bangs? Nope, she likes it raw. Weird.
