Local adult toy trade show attracts Canadian educators

doll.jpgIf you’re Canadian and you’re coming to Shanghai this August, chances are, we know why you’re here.

Shanghai Daily tells us:

“Canadian sex educators will visit Shanghai’s sexual-health expo in August to seek partnership for publication of foreign sex-education material”.

The expo: Third China International Adult Toys and Reproductive Health Exhibition ... kinky and educational, sounds like a spanking good time. But, will people come show up? You bet your ass! The market for “sex products” is exploding in China. The news article quoted a study from the China Sex Health Commission (bureaucracy in China is far reaching indeed), which shows annual sales of such products totaled more than 500 billion yuan ($64.29billion USD) last year, and is forecasted to grow by 30 percent annually in the next several years. Understandably, foreign entrepreneurs would want in on the action, but the motivation behind foreign educators is a bit less clear (maybe they read our Extra! Extra!) and why Canadians in particular would jump at the opportunity is even more puzzling.

With the trade show only two months away, we just might go down there and do a little investigative journalism. Besides, when it comes to reproductive health, one can never be too educated.

Proposed joint venture projects include a series of instructional videos entitled "How to F*ck Like A Canadian" which contains lessons on keeping your partner awake and convincing chicks that you are actually from the states.

I'm just coming to visit the city, I swear!

Any chance we delete at least some of these ads? Leaving them up will only encourage them...
