If you're anything like this particular Shanghaiist (young at heart, possibly infantile), you'd probably enjoy checking out the opening night of the "I, China" exhibit at da>space gallery. Curators Eddi and Jukai have kept things lighthearted and playful, asking 60 young designers from around China to customize Beijing-based WZL's "I" vinyl figurine.
Walking into the gallery is like entering a Lilliputian specimen laboratory of a mad scientist. The walls and floorspace are populated by more than 100 of the tiny toys. Displayed alone or grouped in bizzare tableaux, they are charming, witty variations on a theme uniquely personal to their creators. Some of Shanghaiist's favorite young artists, including Guangzhou-based graffiti and graphic designer mr paper, Shanghai's dishman, and the Beijing/Shanghai collective what the five are on display.

Lilliputian? seems a lot of fun! I'd like to go and take a look this weekend.
LOVING the use of "lilliputian". It's a word we should use more often, don't you think?
totes! i managed to finagle "tableaux" in there as well. pretty pleased with myself for today.
