With the arrival of Gypsy Carns, the blues-evangelist, we were quite conscious of the content of this week’s show — thus a resident DJ showing off his dark side, a shameless mention of our mention in City Weekend and Shanghai’s hottest advice columnist (and we mean that in every sense of the word). Also in store is a free chocolate concert (our attempts at organizing the latter two into some sort of a performance didn’t go as well as hoped). Such a respectful show, in fact, that we plum forgot to make fun of the Bar Rouge crowd.
Here’s this week’s breakdown:
09 – “They featured us in a story…including an interview with yours truly.”
53 – “The magazine So Rock picked ‘em up and released them…”
12 – Hackbuteer clip
21 – “We’ve got chocolate and mint coming to YYT — maybe not exactly…”
49 – Plastic Chocolate clip
55 – “…and the lead singer…drinks at Time Passage.”
36 – “I would love to dig my boot into you, nose fetish tips…”
06 – “Let’s get deeper into the sexual questions, okay?”
17 – “It’s hard to find venues that are willing to take the risks…”
29 – “He’s been doing this non-stop tour around China…”
59 – DJ Trix clip
02 – “I want to get really, really dirty.”
07 – “I usually just tell them to f*ck off!”
45 – “The band from Xingjiang, especially the guy with big hair — god, he’s hot!”
53 – “All of the proceeds went to this lady…who takes care of abandoned cats.”
09 – Recycle clip
40 – “Four gigs in four days-you must be the man.”
25 – Shanghaiist Pick of the Week: Gypsy Carns clip
51 – Flying Fruit clip
53 – “Let me give you the quick weekend wrap-up…”

Thanks to the number of bands and venues finally stepping up and aiding us in the underground promotion — if you’re one of those who’ve yet to do so, get ahold of us, less we start taking the piss out of you as well.
(Nice to know there are at least a few others who make our prejudice look mild).
