Good riddance and yet a sad good bye to yet another Shanghai attraction. Soon this city will just be another steel and glass jungle with no unique characteristics. of course the pirated counterfeit products will still be aorund, just spread across the city. No more one-stop shopping for LaoWai's looking for tourist purchases or larger sized shirts and shoes. guess those who live here will need to find new sources

The market vendors were handing out business cards on Wednesday for the market's new location in Pudong. It's apparently underground, part of Shanghai Sci/Tech Museum Metro station..so no more rainy day bargains.

will have to look out for new lunch options... would be good if that 'steel & glass' tower could spare some space for the Turkish Kebab joint and Monmartre Cafe with its cheap food.

Good riddance. I actually look forward to whatever steel and glass tower will replace that repulsive market and the dickhead touts that infected blocks of Huaihai Lu around it.

I've heard that Pudong, near the science and tech museum, is going to be one of the new sites, but not sure how reliable that information is, my gf told me that and in general i don't trust anything she says.

Thank GOD--as someone who lives just down the street from the market, the raging chaos is like a nightmare that never ends. Which, of course, doesn't stop me from buying shoes and socks there on a regular basis. :P I heard that a group of vendors were setting up shop at a new location--did you hear anything?
