Listen - it really takes a lot of work to keep up a site like this. I personally think the info I get on this site is some of the most interesting available on living in Shanghai. If they need a little help developing some info that will help create some income, more power to them. BTW, the cookie is set so that the same person can't submit the request more than once..so the at least the survey is a little more valid. Unless they ask for your email and contact.. its an anonymous survey.

Well, it's not as if we go to these expensive restaurants regularly, and remember there are several people writing, and some of them have regular jobs, and others are media folks that sometimes get a free meal here or there, so really it's hard to infer anything about our individual economic situations in that way. Yeah, i've been known to go to boonna, to get a 15 rmb coffee or a 28 rmb pasta. Not sure how the ability to do is so enviable a thing, i'm sure you have the funds to do that.

not to nit-pick, but i am pretty sure you can't call yourself poor if you are considered a "regular" at the tong ren lu diner, or frequent places such as Aegean, a future perfect, boonna cafe, the mediterranean cafe, blue frog and most of the other restaurants written about on this site. many of us with full-time jobs only wish we had the funds to live like shanghaiist contributors. but anyway, keep up the good work!
