Sex and the City Beijing

More great stuff from our friends in Beijing, Danwei TV. Well done, guys. (We wonder, though: Why don't Su Fei and the Hard Hat Guy just hook up already?)

Is anyone in Shanghai doing similarly fun, interesting, creative and well-made video shorts? Shanghaiist wants to know. Email us at info at shanghaiist.com.

    Hey Su fei,

    I'm a local man,my msn is yuankiller@hotmail.com.

Maybe I can help you make your dream to indeep true,if you touch me

  • Riad from Dallas, Texas

    Hey Su fei,

You seem like a charming girl! How about I call you next time when I am in Beijing?

  • "You can have my mingpian anytime, Su Fei, you little fox!"

It would have occurred to me to say something along those lines were I not married.

And since the glasses might become a dividing point here, I'll point out that by "pass for" (which I didn't like as soon as I'd clicked "Post") I meant "are the adornments of."

  • Owen

    hahahaha, love it Jeremy.

Don't worry I'm sure hdp wouldn't be interested. I think he recently started working for Fox...

  • Yup hdp, we Jews are such a pain in the ass that way, always going on about it.

Sorry too, about our personality deficiencies, but since you seem like such a charming guy, perhaps we can offer you your own show.

  • hdp

Crap. She could begin with changing her ridiculous old Granny glasses and a new wardrobe. Her outfit is completely unflattering. And the fact that she's Jewish - why do Jews have to declare their religion so often - she's only going to marry another Jew, of which there are very, very few in China, no wonder she seems so insincere. I just wish Danwei would have on screen personalities with more personality.

  • You can have my mingpian anytime, Su Fei, you little fox!

  • "Looking at you, I'd say your kids are already grown up."

Gotta be the glasses. They pass for intellectual hotsy in parts of the U.S., but I'm guessing that to Chinese guys, they're too reminiscent of the ones worn by Jiang Qing during the Cultural Revolution and while on trial in the early 80's.

Enjoyable presentation, though. Would love to have heard more details from the granny talking about her arranged childhood marriage.

The hard hat guy looks a lot like comedian Andy Dick. If he can't hook up in Beijing he can go to LA

and find chicks on Sunset blvd who want to hang with a celebrity.

Why don’t Su Fei and the Hard Hat Guy just hook up already?)

That's a good suggestion. It would make Su Wei's mother very happy for her to find a nice Jewish guy in China. But he's not a doctor or lawyer!
