Eye on Gay Shanghai: Sexy men’s underwear
Almost impossible to find if you're not in the know, Shanghai Studio, is bizarrely located in part of an underground car park. No one can say they accidentally stumbled into this bar (a phrase Shanghaiist hears all too often in gay bars)!
The maze-like corridors present a cozy place for a couple looking for an intimate moment or a quiet nook to chat with friends, but it's also a gigantic fire hazard. In a city where the price of real estate seems to be increasing by the minute, we guess beggars can't be choosers.
Shanghai Studio also has a branch location in an apartment complex that caters exclusively to Japanese gay men. A quiet, odd place, similar to our auntie’s living room, but pretty popular among a select group of the Japanese gay community, it’s the best place for service out of all of Shanghai’s alternative establishments!
BTW, Shanghaiist has already bought some of the sexy swimwear/underwear as a birthday gift for a male friend and we think it's a great gift -- for men who have the body for it!
Finally, for those who didn't get enough of the World Cup in the past several weeks, MANifesto has a new Football Fever collection for a different kind of man-on-man entertainment. Be sure to ask the cutie owner, Kenneth to show you the goods! According to the website, he's also available for other things:
If you have exciting new business ideas to share, millions of dollars in the Cayman Islands waiting to fund our expansion, a complaint to lodge, or just want to ask him out on a date...
Shamless self-promotion, but Shanghaiist might give it a try sometime!
Shanghaiist is always looking for insider tips on the gay/lesbian community in Shanghai, if you have tidbits you want to share, please send them to shanghaifaghag at gmail.com.

Wow, Shanghai Studio, another gay bar at the corner of Tian Ping Lu and Huaihai Lu. I used to live in the area(Tian Ping Lu 101) when I was a kid.
I guess the area is quickly becoming the gay village of Shanghai.
Don't forget that Arch Cafe is on that same corner as well, and while not a gay bar, they are quite gay friendly.
There is a famous gay bar also at that area. the bar named Eddy's bar. this area could be a gay village in Shanghai.
Where is that Shanghai Studio branch mentioned in the article located? It says in an apartment complex and catering for Japanese gay community. Thanks.
I recommend stopping by to ask at Shanghai Studio as it's a bit of an underground place.
