There is a famous gay bar also at that area. the bar named Eddy's bar. this area could be a gay village in Shanghai.

Don't forget that Arch Cafe is on that same corner as well, and while not a gay bar, they are quite gay friendly.

Wow, Shanghai Studio, another gay bar at the corner of Tian Ping Lu and Huaihai Lu. I used to live in the area(Tian Ping Lu 101) when I was a kid. I guess the area is quickly becoming the gay village of Shanghai.
