This may be old news (in fact, according to this link, it's almost three-year-old news) but we just learned over the weekend that McDonald's delivers in Shanghai, so we thought perhaps it would be new to some of you, too. We're not sure if every McDonald's in town delivers, but the one we were at in Yu Yuan (don't ask) does. The sign says they deliver between 9 am and 9 pm and require a minimum order of 50 kuai -- which means Shanghaiist won't be getting delivery anytime soon, since the only reason we ever go to McDonald's is for their ice cream.

That brings us to our second likely-very-old-news discovery. It seems some McDonald's in town now carry the McFlurry, and at 8 kuai it's a much better deal than the Dairy Queen Blizzard. Although it looks as though we don't want to be downing too many McFlurries. If you are interested in checking out McDonald's delivery service, here is a list of Shanghai locations (in Chinese), but we are not sure how current it is. KFC, we have heard, has been delivering for a while now, too.

In other McDonald's-related news, we received an email from Leslie Chen, a Los Angeles-based reader requesting we help her in some sleuthing that could help her stick it to McDonald's, or at least get paid the proper amount for some modeling work she did a while back. We will let her explain:

I am looking for a photo of a McDonald's advertisement that my friend saw in Shanghai 1.5 months ago. I am willing to reward the first person who can send me photos of the advertisement.

3 years ago I was paid to do a McDonalds print campaign in America. The contract was for US use only. A friend of my brother told me that my photo was all over Asia, especially Shanghai. The advertising agency was going to pay me, but is now refusing to, and wants proof of use.

So this is where you come in. If you happen to walk by an ad, if you can take the time to snap a photo, and email it to me, I would be so grateful. I have a sample photo of what was used here in the US so maybe you will recognize it.

We don't know what the reward would be, but we do know from her website that, for what it's worth, Leslie's "voice is described as fresh, young, clean, bright, and real. It can also be spunky and bouncy, or serene, warm, and soothing."
