As far as we know this is the last show that Black Eyed Peas are playing in greater China (they were in Hong Kong and Beijing earlier this week). This is a definite first for Shanghai and China, not that seeing various has-beens with thinning pensions in Shanghai doesn't have its own kind of value. We've been looking for information on their previous two shows in China, Hong Kong and Beijing, and haven't been able to find too much. Might have to do with the fact that our blog search engine of choice is perpetually blocked in China. We did find some pictures on Flickr, many taken at the Beijing show. We also found a couple of blogs here and here and here all of which border on the ecstatic. However, we also found this thoughtful essay (in Chinese), which has been cut, pasted and copied into a zillion Chinese blogs, and wherein the author mulls over the difference between hip-hop and hip-pop, pop culture and society. Deep stuff. Probably best to read it after the show, unless you’re a killjoy by nature (like us). We’ll bring you a post-show post too, hopefully with some pictures and maybe a little audio/video too.

Does the vision of teenage girls in underpants shaking their ass turn you on Peijin. Shame, Shanghaiist, shame.
no i cut off my penis in shenyang earlier, so i don't really have much of a sex drive. Thanks for asking though.
I'm sure you didn't need a meat cleaver for that ;-)
