Do you have what it takes to be Boozer No. 1?

We love the title of this Shanghai Daily article: “Tourist festival great for boozers.” Whoever wrote that title is hereby invited to write for Shanghaiist -- don’t worry, you’ll fit right in.

This year’s tourism festival runs from September 16 to October 6, and will feature German beer festivals and other events where you can, as we say in the ‘hood, get crapulous. However, the festival is missing one thing—an ambassador. There are new rules this year: anyone who lives or works in Shanghai -- foreign or Chinese -- is eligible. The down side of this is that, as a public figure, you will strongly be discouraged from getting shit-faced during parades, press conferences and other meaningless rituals.
