GigShanghai: Sonnet (yay!) , film noir and Swiss goth

While we’re not ones to brag (we smell nice and had a BBC interview this week), there’s simply no other way to convey how good of a show this is -- we mean, if other podcasts were, say, a foreign match-making service, then we’d be the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau. After calls, pleas and a signed naked staff photo (sans Jimi), local indies Sonnet make their first appearance in a while at Yuyintang this weekend, along with three others for the “5 Dollar Shake” show this weekend (and c’mon -- film noir played nonstop and beer from a can). Also, our favorite MC Mojo not only drops by to talk all things “scratch-off” (not to mention make that record-scratchy-thing-sound with his mouth and bring us a short from the other weekend (see video above) but also this weekends party that expects 500+. We also get a visit from Blue Garden (although, they might have changed their name to “Orchid”), our downstairs neighbor playing his first show tonight … and, ummm … Swiss Goth (type that into Google and you’ll get a very cool font). Again, never ones to boast -- but we’re pretty sure after this show people will talk about us on their phones.
