Art on the Net: Faile in Shanghai

Via the Wooster Collective, we learned of what appears to have been a pretty cool art experience earlier this month at the Shanghai Sculpture Place. Unfortunately, everything we have read (including notes from the organizer) suggests it was just a one-night event with "lots of Tiger beer," which, we suppose, some people believe to be a good thing. The art on display at the party was created by the Brooklyn-based collective (we want to start a collective!) Faile. From Wooster:
Faile has recently painted a mural for the Tiger Translate event in Shanghai at the Shanghai Sculpture Space. Tiger Translate is a global tour to present audiences with a vibrant vision of Asia through the eyes of emerging and established artists. For the Shanghai event on Saturday, August 5th 2006, Faile was commissioned to create a series of pieces which captured their vision of Asia. The 108 ft. mural consisted of 18 canvasses (Arcylic on Canvas) at 6ft. x 6ft. each. The mural was largely composed of Faile imagery and ideas juxtaposed with the bits and pieces collected during trips through Chinatown in New York City.

While the work may no longer be at Shanghai Sculpture Space (please correct us if we are wrong), you can still see it here. You can also see photos from the party here and here. And you can buy a piece of art that is somehow related to the show here.
