Only 26 hours to go before you get to drink cheap Coopers beer while wearing your Drizabones and listening to Regurgitator's "Kong Foo Sing." And no, we have no idea what any of that means.
But we do know that we'd like to see you at the Shanghaiist Dinkum Drinks Happy Hour tomorrow night. And we do know the answer to today's Aussie trivia question. And if you you do too, Shanghaiist just might pay for your first drink at the party.
The first person to comment below (using a legit email address) with the complete correct answer to the following question wins. We'll put your name on a list -- track down Dan at the party, and he'll get you your drink.
Here is today's question:
What is known as a "middy" of beer in New South Wales is called what in South Australia and what in Queensland?
The questions just keep getting easier and easier. It's a two-parter, so both parts need to be answered correctly.
Getting there is a piece of piss. Here are the details:
What: Shanghaiist Dinkum Drinks Happy Hour
When: Friday, Sept. 22, 7-11 pm (but we'll stay there longer than that)
Where: Senses Wine Lounge, 515 Jianguo Xi Lu, near Wulumuqi Lu
Drink Specials: 2 for 1 on selected Aussie wines (normal prices start at 40 RMB) and 2 for 1 on Coopers beer (that's two bottles of one of the better brews found in Shanghai for RMB 30)
Food: The barbie will be fired up out on the patio
Music: All the best (and some of the worst) that Australia has to offer, courtesy of Shamus' iPod.
Movies: Aussie movies outside (weather permitting). The Castle, anyone?
Dress Code: None really. But we might dress up like Cheryl Kernot, just for fun.
Dinkum?: You bet.

In Queensland its a "Pot", that's for bloody sure. South Australia its a "Schooner"
Weirdly if you ask for a Schooner in the rest of the country you'll get a bigger glass than South Australia.
Still, you really should order beers by the jug.
In Queensland a middy is called a Pot. In South Australia it's called a Schooner.
stupid slow internet!
You both win! Find me and I'll buy you what we call in America "bottles" of beer or "glasses" of wine.
Sounds good to me Seppo!
Any idea if Matt can get the Swans V Dockers on the tube?
