<description>&lt;p&gt;Wow!  Beijing U. actually pays Chinese professors more than foreign (non-Chinese) ones?  I remember looking at their jobs ads, and they promised 3,500 a month for foreign teachers, plus wanted a Ph.D.  No word on housing stipends or anything like that.

As far as Shanghai goes, I&apos;ve heard the bottom, salary-wise, is Donghua U.  They only pay Chinese teachers 2,000 RMB a month.  I heard they are so desperate for teachers that they are contacting first year Ph.D. candidates at other Shanghai universities and trying to get them to sign contracts before they&apos;ve even started writing their dissertations.  &lt;/p&gt;</description>
