I've actually caught an nfl game out here...imagine my surprise since I didn't even know there were going to broadcast it out here this year. Don't know which channel or when..I was too in shock. Anyone know the schedule and channel?
Cheers.

ps: bubba's shows ncaa football games the day after, so as long as you dont go to espn.com for a day you should be fine for that fix.

How does one explain the popularity of american football in america? What other sport requires so much equipment and is so brutal that hardly anyone plays the sport after high school, yet it enjoys unbridled popularity in the USA?

Often it seems to be men wanting to be physical or at least dream of being physical in a world that has left them less than physical.

Will that machoism appeal to the Chinese male? Don't know.

i heard it's being shown on shanghai eastern satellite channels or something like that. btw, i'm a chinese football fan in america (though more NCAA than NFL).

a group of us wrote a book that was published by the NFL and distributed in china - we covered games for nflchina.com in chinese after attending them live here in the US, yet despite repeated promises the NFL has declined to sponsor our more comprehensive version of the book (probably costs them $1000, a fraction of the penalty they collect from a TO endzone celebration).

I think the NFL is sending mixed messages to Chinese fans, on the one hand they spend tens of thousands, if not more, to fly journalists to america, and send pats/seahawks to china; on the other hand, they didn't want to spend 1000$ to introduce the rules to the chinese public. It's not like our work is subpar, the color guy for the chinese superbowl broadcast is actually one of us.

go figure.

Hey, just a heads up.

Chen Liangyu has just been dismissed from his post as head of the Shanghai CCP for graft. He has been temporarily replaced by the Major Han Zheng.
