Reports: North Korea goes nuclear

northkoreanuclear100906.jpgEveryone is reporting about North Korea's apparent "successful" test of a nuclear weapon, which happened last night.

North Korean scientists "successfully conducted an underground nuclear test under secure conditions," the [Korean Central News Agency] report said, adding this was "a stirring time when all the people of the country are making a great leap forward in the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation." ...

"The nuclear test is a historic event that brought happiness to our military and people," KCNA said. "The nuclear test will contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and surrounding region."

The reports are still fresh and unconfirmed, so there is not much in the way of official reaction yet. But the Yen, the Won and South Korea stocks are all taking a dive. Here is a "North Korea nuclear crisis timeline."

We will update this space with related links as we come across them. Please feel free to help out, by posting in the comments section.

The SCO has will continue to pay the price for their lack of vision (emporer palpatine voice).

The financial markets shall sway and shake, Iran will go ahead and shrink the warhead design to fit on a shahab-2 missile.

China's Asian foriegn policy has proven hollow and useless, it cannot control its Frankenstein.

bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahhahahhahaaaaaaaaa

so NK goes nuke nuts and it's China's fault ?

lol, how does that work ?

Because China supports NK with resources, politically defends Kim Fat Troll and has also provided nuke blueprints to quite a few rogue nations. The IAEA has documented evidence that China provided centrifuge technology, UF6, electronics and explosives to NK.

just like the US supported Iran and Iraq with weapons.

just like the UK support others with weapons as well.

so, what's your point again?

Not nukes, and not chem or bio weapons either. During GW1, the Iraqi revolutionary guard launched a concrete warhead designed to ferry bio agents (because concrete can insulate the bacteria from heat). Who sold it to them? That's right, the PLA.
