Although the tattooing took place in a bar -- Shanghai Studio, which happens to be the site of the upcoming Shanghaiist Halloween Party -- the guy was not drunk at the time of the inking. In fact, he made an appointment the night before once he learned that one of Shanghai Studio's bartenders, Xiaobai (pictured), does freelance tattooing (he carries his tools, disposable needles and all, with him, and even makes house calls). He found the design on the internet -- perhaps here or here? -- and the rest is permanent history.

For anybody [still] considering having Chinese--or any other Asian characters--tattooed on their body, a visit to http://www.hanzismatter.com/ is a must.
That guy looks alot like John Mark Carr.
What's his other tattoo? Maybe it says "Getting tattoos gives me a boner".
I'm willing to bet that in 3 weeks, they split - always happens when you inked a loved one on ya.
But what could he change it to? Not really seeing an easy "Winona" to "Wino" transition.
LOL..word!
